Honouring Our Heroes - ANZAC Day Wreaths & Floral Tributes

ANZAC Day is a time for reflection, remembrance, and national pride. Observed each year on April 25th, it marks the anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) troops at Gallipoli in 1915. What began as a military campaign has become a powerful symbol of courage, mateship, and sacrifice.

At Best Blooms, we are honoured to support ANZAC Day commemorations by creating traditional wreaths and providing wreath stands for dawn services, community ceremonies, and private tributes. Whether you're laying a wreath on behalf of a school, business, club, or family, we’re here to help you present your tribute with respect and care.

The Meaning Behind the Wreath

Wreath-laying is a time-honoured ritual of remembrance. The circular shape represents eternity – the ongoing memory of those who served and sacrificed.

ANZAC wreaths often feature:

  • Red poppies – Inspired by the fields of Flanders, poppies have become a lasting emblem of those who gave their lives in war.
  • Foliage – We use a mix of native foliage like fern fronds, along with camellia leaves, which are prized for their glossy finish and structure. Sometimes we also incorporate other flowers or foliage depending on the arrangement and requests.
  • Rosemary – A symbol of remembrance worn on ANZAC Day and found growing wild on the Gallipoli Peninsula.

Our wreaths are crafted with cultural and historical sensitivity and can include custom ribbon messages such as “Lest We Forget”, “In Loving Memory”, or group and organisational names.

We also offer artificial wreaths, which are ideal for long-lasting tributes, permanent memorials, or when early delivery and durability are important.

Traditional ANZAC Colours

When creating a tribute, colours often hold symbolic meaning. We’re happy to customise wreaths to reflect traditional colours associated with different branches and affiliations:

  • ARMY: Red and Green
  • AIR FORCE: Blue, Red, and White
  • RSA (Returned Services Association): Red and White
  • AUSTRALIA: Yellow and Green

Let us know who your tribute represents, and we can tailor the floral arrangement accordingly.

Wreath Stands for Services & Ceremonies

For formal presentations at dawn services, school events, or memorials, a wreath stand ensures your tribute is respectfully displayed. We supply sturdy metal stands suitable for indoor or outdoor use, and we also offer hire options for larger events or multiple arrangements.

Whether you're placing a single wreath or coordinating several, we can assist with sizing, delivery, and setup advice.

Order Early for ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day is one of the most meaningful occasions on our national calendar. To ensure your wreath is prepared and delivered in time for services, we recommend placing your order early. We offer local delivery across Auckland city and rural suburbs, and we’re happy to deliver directly to homes, service venues, or memorial sites.

Bulk Orders Welcome

We offer bulk discounts for orders of 5 or more wreaths, perfect for schools, clubs, local councils, and businesses participating in community commemorations. Please contact us for pricing and delivery options.

Why We Remember

ANZAC Day honours not just those who landed at Gallipoli, but all New Zealanders and Australians who have served in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions. As we gather to lay wreaths, attend services, or observe a moment of silence, we join in a national act of remembrance.

It’s a chance to honour the past, acknowledge the present, and ensure the legacy of service and sacrifice is never forgotten.
